Organize tabs into workspaces, save and restore browsing sessions, find anything you've seen before, and keep your browser clean. Bookmarks are for pages you'll want someday. Cairn is for what you're working on right now. You have 30 tabs open and can't close them, because closing them means losing them. Cairn turns that pile into named workspaces you can put down and pick back up — close everything guilt-free, then get it all back exactly as it was. HOW IT WORKS Save your current tabs as a named workspace (tab groups, pinned state, and order all included) → close your browser or move on to something else → click Continue on that workspace whenever you're ready, and every tab reopens exactly where you left off. WHAT ELSE IT DOES • Universal search — one search box across your open tabs, saved workspaces, browsing history, bookmarks, and workspace notes at once. • Notes — every workspace carries its own notes, right next to the tabs they're about. • Browser cleanup — finds duplicate tabs and stale tabs, and suggests tab groups from shared domains/keywords. Nothing closes or rearranges without your explicit confirmation, every time. • Temporary tabs — mark a tab to expire in an hour, today, tomorrow, or a custom time, and get a reminder instead of forgetting it in the pile. • Optional AI — ask a workspace to summarize itself, find themes, or spot contradictions across its tabs. Off by default. Requires your own API key (Anthropic, OpenAI, or a custom/local endpoint). Every request shows you exactly what will be sent before anything goes out, and nothing is ever sent automatically. YOUR DATA STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE No account. No server. No telemetry. Everything Cairn saves lives in Chrome's local storage on your device. History and bookmarks are only read locally to power search — never transmitted anywhere. The only time anything leaves your device is the optional AI feature above, which you set up yourself and trigger yourself, every time. vs. BOOKMARKS: bookmarks save one link at a time and lose all arrangement. Cairn saves everything open right now — all your tabs at once, with groups, pinned state, and order preserved — restorable in one click. vs. "Reopen closed tab": that only covers the last few minutes. Cairn is named, intentional, and permanent.
