Find duplicate photos and videos in Google Photos. Matching stays in your browser. Review, then Trash only what you confirm. PhotoSweep finds duplicate and similar photos and videos in Google Photos™. Matching runs in your browser; PhotoSweep does not upload your photo library for analysis. Review matches and move only the items you confirm to Trash. What you can do • Review Exact and Similar groups separately. Exact means verified identical / the same photo; Similar means lookalikes (metadata-strong and/or visual). Choose which copy to keep. • Export an audit report (JSON) or spreadsheet (CSV) from the review menu. Full export applies to paid or unlocked results (free may need an upgrade when groups are locked). • An optional license unlocks larger and full-library scans. Matching still runs in the browser. How it works 1. Open the library in Chrome. 2. The first unscoped Smart scan uses Recent 30 days so large libraries stay fast. Choosing an album or date range, or scanning an iCloud/Amazon batch, skips this default. 3. Review the groups and choose which copy to keep. 4. Type the item count to confirm. 5. Move selected items to Trash. You can recover them from Trash (Undo stays available right after). Limits, privacy, and billing iCloud Photos and Amazon Photos can be used from a signed-in browser session. They are separate from Google Photos, and album scope is Google Photos only. Where matching and the review grid use provider CDN thumbnails, those previews are about 200px, not full originals. Video matching uses poster and thumbnail stills, not a full decode of the file. Other provider paths may use different preview sizes. Optional usage analytics are off until you tap Allow; no photo content is sent. License checks, and analytics after Allow, leave the device. The optional license uses Stripe Checkout, not Chrome IAP. Do not read this as “nothing ever leaves the device” or “100% private.” Always review before Trash. Availability and cleanup can vary by provider, region, account, loaded library area, and media type. Some steps use the provider’s own web interface. PhotoSweep is not affiliated with, created by, or endorsed by Google, Apple, Amazon, or their photo services. Google Photos is a trademark of Google LLC. Use of this trademark is subject to Google Permissions. Apple, iCloud, and iCloud Photos are trademarks of Apple Inc. Amazon and Amazon Photos are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates. PhotoSweep does not use the official Google Photos Library API (browser session / GPTK in-page access only).
