Snap, paste, or describe a meal for instant AI calorie & macro estimates. Bring your own API key. 100% local, no server. Snap. Bite. Done. SnapBite turns a photo of your plate into calories and macros in a tap — or paste a picture, or just type what you ate. No barcode hunting, no giant food database to search, no account to create. It's yours, and it's private. SnapBite has no server and no account. Your meal log lives in your browser on your own device, and nothing is ever sent to us — because there's no "us" to send it to. The only time data leaves your machine is the moment you ask for an estimate, and then it goes straight to the AI provider you chose. Bring your own key (BYOK). SnapBite is free and open source. You plug in your own API key from the provider you like, and the extension talks directly to it. That keeps it free to run and puts you in control of your data and your costs. Works with the AI you choose. Connect the provider that fits your budget — Chinese-first options like Qwen, DeepSeek, and Kimi keep costs low, or run a local model so nothing leaves your device. Model IDs and endpoints are editable, so you're never stuck when providers change. See the full list of supported providers at github.com/wushu75/SnapBite. Made to get out of your way. • Three ways to log: photo, paste/upload, or plain text • Editable results — fix the calories, macros, or title before you save • A daily energy ring and simple meal history • kcal or kJ, light or dark, your call • No telemetry, no ads, minimal permissions Estimates only — not medical advice. Open source under the MIT license. Not affiliated with any model provider.
