Every link you copy is mostly tracking garbage. Hover a link: clean copy, new tab, window, incognito, side by side. No right-click. You know how the links you copy are mostly tracking garbage? HyLink fixes that — hover a link, one click, clean copy, using Brave's own rule list. Links you open get the same treatment by default: new tab, new window, incognito, or side by side with the page you're on, all without a right-click, all with the utm_ and fbclid junk stripped off first. It stays out of your way. What appears is three small dots beside the link — only in body text, never in navigation bars or sidebars, and only once your pointer actually stops, so reading never triggers it. Move onto the dots and they open into the action bar; Esc, scrolling, or moving away dismisses it, and it steps aside for hover cards like Wikipedia's previews instead of covering them. The hover delay, which actions appear and in what order, whether links you open are cleaned, and a per-site off switch are all in the options. About the "read and change all your data on all websites" warning: Chrome shows it to every extension that runs on every site, and links exist on every page. HyLink reads the address of the link under your pointer, and the tag and class names around it so it can tell an article from a nav bar — never page text, form fields, passwords, cookies or history. No network requests, no analytics, no account, no server. Your settings sync through your own Chrome profile and nothing else leaves your browser.
