Bound to the mast: blocks adult sites, words and searches, with a Strict Mode a weak moment cannot undo. Nothing leaves your PC. Mast blocks adult websites and adult search terms in your browser. It works in six layers, because one layer is never enough: 1. Adult site blocklist — over 45,000 known adult domains, blocked by the browser itself before the request ever leaves your computer. 2. Address keywords — adult terms appearing in the web address. 3. Word list on the page itself — an adult page that never names itself in its address is still caught, by reading the text of the page. Whole-word matching, so ordinary pages are left alone. Arabic is supported. 4. Forced SafeSearch — the major search engines are held on their strictest filter. This is the only layer that can do anything about image search, where an ordinary word can put explicit pictures on screen with nothing incriminating in the address or the text. 5. YouTube Restricted Mode — always on. 6. Local files — pages opened from your own computer are checked too. It also covers the places blockers usually miss: adult content embedded inside an ordinary page, and sites that change the address without loading a new page. You can add your own sites and words on the options page. You cannot turn the adult blocking off from inside the extension — there is no off switch, deliberately. A switch you can reach in a weak moment is a delay, not protection. STRICT MODE — set a commitment for a chosen length of time, from a few minutes to a year. While it is on, your own lists can only grow (you can add, not remove) and Strict Mode itself cannot be shortened or switched off — only extended. A promise made on a good day that a weak moment cannot break. PRIVACY There is no account, no sign-in, and no server. The extension makes no network requests of its own. Page addresses and page text are examined inside your browser and discarded — they are never sent anywhere, because there is nowhere for them to be sent. What is stored on your computer is only: the sites and words you added yourself, a per-day count of how many pages were blocked, and two timestamps used to show you whether the extension is still working. WHY IT NEEDS ACCESS TO ALL SITES Adult content is not confined to a list of sites you could name in advance, so the extension has to be able to check any page you open. This is the same access an ad blocker needs, for the same reason.
