Pontis helps professionals find the right AI workflow for their work. Pontis — AI Workflow Builder (Chrome Extension) Summary Pontis is a Chrome extension that converts a user’s task into a structured, step‑by‑step AI workflow. It is designed to reduce ambiguity by generating concrete prompts for each step and letting users reuse workflows. Pontis is not an automation agent. It does not take actions on behalf of the user. Instead, it provides execution‑ready guidance and inserts prompts into user‑selected text fields when requested. How It Works Describe the task Users enter a short description of what they want to achieve. They can also choose to use the current page as context. Follow‑up questions Pontis asks two clarifying questions to narrow the workflow to a specific outcome. Workflow generation The backend generates a single workflow with 2–4 steps. Each step contains: Tool Purpose Instruction Prompt Execute the steps Users can copy each step or insert it directly into the active text box on the page. Save and reuse Workflows can be saved locally and run again later. Core Capabilities Page Context (user‑initiated): On click, Pontis reads visible text from the active tab to prefill the description. Step‑level workflows: Each workflow is broken into 2–4 concrete steps, not generic advice. Insert into page: Prompts can be inserted into a focused input field (textarea/contenteditable) with one click. Local persistence: Saved workflows and usage metrics are stored locally via chrome.storage.local. Permissions Explained activeTab Required to read content from the active tab when the user clicks “Use Page Context.” scripting Required to insert prompts into the active text field when the user clicks “Insert.” storage Required to store saved workflows and local usage metrics. Pontis does not scrape pages automatically and does not run in the background. All access to page content is user‑initiated. Backend Pontis sends requests to a hosted FastAPI backend that generates workflows using an AI model. The backend is required to answer the two question flow and generate the step‑level workflow. Limitations Pontis provides structured guidance, but it does not automate tasks. Insert works only on detectable input fields (textarea, contenteditable, or input fields). Saved workflows are local to the browser and do not sync between devices. The backend must be online for workflow generation.
