Blocks the channels and profiles chosen by whoever manages this computer. It only compares pages with that list, locally. URL Sentinel Channel Guard is the browser companion of URL Sentinel, a parental-control and device-management program for Windows. It lets the person who manages the computer (for example a parent) block specific channels and profiles on video and social sites, while the rest of each site keeps working. HOW IT WORKS The administrator chooses which channels and profiles to block in the URL Sentinel app. The list is delivered to the browser through the browser's managed policy. When a page is opened, the extension compares its address with that list. For video pages it also checks who owns the video, so a video from a blocked channel is stopped even when its link does not contain the channel's name. A blocked page shows a plain message and a "Go back" button. PRIVACY The extension does not collect, store or send browsing history, page content or personal data. It has no analytics, no advertising and no remote code. The only request it makes is the owner lookup for a video page, sent to the video platform's own public service with the address of that video. Nothing is sent to the developer. IMPORTANT The extension is managed by the administrator of the computer, so the browser shows it as managed by your organization. Installed alone, without the URL Sentinel app delivering a list, it does nothing.
