Local screen recorder with crash recovery. Screen recording that doesn’t lose everything after one interruption. SafeCast is a local-first screen recorder for Chrome. It saves your recording in small chunks on your device while you record, so footage already saved can still be recovered if the recorder page refreshes, closes, or is unexpectedly interrupted. If something interrupts the recorder, footage already written to your device remains available for preview and recovery. You decide whether to keep or delete an interrupted recording. SafeCast never automatically deletes your recordings. LOCAL-FIRST PRIVACY No account is required. SafeCast does not upload your recordings to a SafeCast server. Recordings remain in your browser’s local storage until you export or manually delete them. System-audio availability depends on the source selected in Chrome and your operating system. Tab audio is generally the most predictable option.
