CALLY — a pixel companion for Axiom, Padre and Fomo: live callouts, switchable characters, and a worm with a real nervous system. CALLY is a tiny pixel companion that lives in the corner of your browser. ───────────────────────── CALLY HAS AN ACTUAL NERVOUS SYSTEM This is the part we're unreasonably proud of. CALLY's default character is a worm, and her idle breathing isn't a looping animation — it's driven by a small simulation of the nervous system of C. elegans, the roundworm whose 302 neurons are the only complete connectome science has fully mapped. Under the hood there are real neurons with real names: gentle-touch sensory cells, the command interneurons that argue over forward versus backward, and a chain of motor segments whose travelling wave becomes the movement you see. They're modelled as graded potentials rather than spikes, because that's how the actual animal works. So the worm never breathes quite the same way twice. Touch her and the circuit responds. It is a genuinely tiny brain, running quietly in your browser, gently moving a pixel worm up and down. She wanders along the edges of your page, naps when it's quiet, blinks, stretches, watches your cursor, and answers a desk phone that absolutely should not exist in 2026. She is not a widget or a toolbar. She is a small animal who has decided your tab is her home, and she has opinions about it. And when a callout arrives, she tells you. ───────────────────────── A COMPANION, NOT A NOTIFICATION Most extensions sit still until you click them. CALLY doesn't. She has moods, idle habits, and a soft spot for cursors that hold still long enough to earn a slow blink. Leave her alone and she'll find somewhere comfortable to loaf. Come back after a while and she'll notice you were gone. Pet her. She purrs. ───────────────────────── CALLOUTS, THE MOMENT THEY LAND CALLY listens to the CALLY feed over a live connection. When something is published, she perks up, announces it out loud on the page, and files it in her log. No refreshing, no polling, no missing it because you were on another tab. Every callout also lands in the popup and the side panel, so you can scroll back through what she's heard. Callouts fade away after 30 minutes — she keeps what's current, not a pile of history. If she's asleep, or you've muted her, they're still recorded quietly. Nothing gets lost. ───────────────────────── PICK YOUR CHARACTER Browse the roster with the arrows and confirm the one you want.
