Whitelist channels, set daily limits and a bedtime. PIN-locks YouTube's settings so the rules actually hold. Free, no account. Kids figure out parental controls fast. They open YouTube's own settings and switch Shorts and autoplay straight back on, usually in about five seconds. This extension locks that door. Your rules sit behind a PIN, and so does YouTube's settings menu, so the settings hold instead of quietly resetting. It arrives switched off. Install it, browse YouTube normally while you pick channels and set rules, then turn it on with your PIN. Blocking starts only when you say so, and turning it off needs the PIN too. WHAT IT DOES - Whitelist: only approved channels and playlists play. Nothing else. - Blocklist: ban specific channels outright. - Bedtime: YouTube stops at a set time. - Daily limit: a time budget that runs out. - Shorts off, comments off, autoplay off, search locked. - New videos start muted for up to ~3s while the channel is verified; blocked ones wall instantly on every later click. Blocks land on a separate page - the video (and its sound) is gone, not hidden. - One PIN over all of it, including YouTube's own settings menu. BUILT AGAINST THE ACTUAL WORKAROUNDS Most tools block content and leave the controls open. We closed the ways kids get around them: re-enabling settings, refreshing the page, typing a video URL directly, and deleting history to hide the trail. If YouTube ships a change that breaks enforcement, the extension tells you. It does not fail quietly and leave you thinking the rules are still on. YOU SEE WHAT HAPPENED An activity log, kept by the extension, that your child cannot quietly erase. Clearing YouTube's history does nothing to it. It also records if the extension was ever switched off, and for how long. WHAT IT CANNOT DO, HONESTLY This works in Chrome, on this profile. It cannot stop incognito mode, a VPN, a different browser, or a phone. Those are device-level problems and no extension can solve them. It also cannot stop a child who finds chrome://extensions and switches it off. No extension can - Chrome gives us no way to protect ourselves. What we do instead is write it down, so you can see it happened. Anyone promising you more than that is overselling. FREE. No account, no subscription, no analytics.
