Listen to user-opened videos as translated audio through your local Mimi helper. Mimi helps you listen to the current Chrome tab in another language. Start Mimi from the toolbar on a YouTube, X, or other user-opened video tab, and the Mac helper sends live audio to Gemini Live Translate using your local API key. The translated audio plays back a few seconds later. Mimi is free, open source, BYOK, and ad-free. Your Gemini API key is stored on your Mac side through Mimi setup, not in the Chrome extension. Mimi does not download videos, create subtitle files, save finished dubbed videos, cache translated audio, or upload content before you press Start Translation.
