Arthur — Immersion and Comprehension Tracker. Two measures of progress: hours and comprehension. Most trackers count hours. But hours alone don't build a language, comprehensible input does. Arthur counts two things: how much you immerse, and how much you actually understand, then shows whether your time lands where acquisition happens. ____Automatic YouTube tracking Confirm once which account you're learning on, and Arthur counts every video you watch on that profile, in the background. Switch accounts freely. Only the account you confirmed is tracked. Shorts can be excluded. ____Comprehension tracking After or within a session, one question: how much did you understand? You still answer with a percentage, but each value now also carries one of six named levels: Noise, Outline, Difficult, Grasping, Flow, and Effortless, each with its own colour from red through gold to green and a one-line description. The levels put words to what a bare number leaves vague, defining what comprehension actually means at each step. It's still not an exact science, but it makes your judgement far more consistent from one session to the next, and keeps the tracking coherent as your comprehension grows over time. The dashboard shows how your watch time spreads across the six levels. It also marks the videos you've "cracked", the ones that went from barely following to understanding most of it. And once you've built up enough immersion hours since you last saw a video, Arthur suggests it for a re-watch, so you can measure how much more you understand now. ____Session timer Start a focused session in one click from the toolbar. It runs in the background. When you stop, pick a category and add a label if you want (show, episode, book). ____Manual entry Add immersion time in three clicks. Available in the side panel and in the dashboard. ____Stats & dashboard Period tiles (Today, This Week, This Month, Since Start), trend charts, a 4-week heatmap, a streak tracker, personal records, your immersion sources, top channels and videos, comprehension distribution and progress, and full session and video history. ____Challenges Set a time-bound goal. Run two at once and switch between them on the dashboard card. Each challenge breaks into stages and shows hours done, hours left, days remaining, and the hours per day you need to stay on track. ____Your data stays yours Everything stays local in your browser: no account, no server, no upload. Export as CSV or JSON, import from a backup, delete by video, channel, or time range. ARTHUR 0.8.1 — WHAT'S NEW A small fix release on top of the comprehension update. FIXED • Wrong video titles — Some videos showed the title of a different video, caught in the split second you switched from one video to the next. The title is now read once the page has settled, and watching a video again corrects any title that was already wrong. • Dashboard flicker — The dashboard no longer flashes the wrong colour for a moment when it opens. The code that prevents this finally runs (it was blocked before). • Smoother after updates — Reloading or updating the extension with a YouTube tab open no longer floods the console with errors (that tab still needs a refresh to resume tracking).
