Read, write, clean, preview, and convert HTML, Markdown, and BBCode in a focused local workspace. Markup Desk is a local markup workspace for reading and preparing HTML, Markdown, and BBCode. Write raw markup in a focused source editor while a sanitized reading view updates beside it. Switch between Write, Split, and Read layouts depending on whether you are drafting, checking structure, or reviewing the rendered result. Markup Desk can convert a document between HTML, Markdown, and BBCode through a shared semantic representation. Common structures such as headings, emphasis, links, images, quotes, code blocks, lists, tables, horizontal rules, and spoiler/details blocks are carried across formats where an equivalent representation exists. An Undo conversion control keeps the previous source available during the current session. The editor includes selection-aware tools for headings, bold, italic, links, quotes, code, lists, tables, images, and spoiler/details markup. A Link Builder turns multiple “label — URL” lines into hyperlinks using the current syntax. The document outline follows headings in the rendered structure, and reusable snippets can be saved locally for later insertion. For HTML review, Markup Desk removes active content and unsafe attributes before rendering the preview. Scripts, embedded active content, event-handler attributes, and javascript: URLs are not executed in the reading view. External images are represented by a guarded placeholder and are not requested until the user explicitly chooses to load the image. Documents can be imported from common text markup files and exported back to a local file. The current draft, selected format, view mode, document title, and user-created snippets are stored locally in the browser profile. Markup Desk does not require an account, analytics service, remote AI service, or developer-operated document server.
