See how news articles connect claims to visible sources, passages, and reporting evidence. Veritas Shield helps you understand how a news article supports what it says—without leaving Chrome. Open a news article and select “Analyze article.” Veritas Shield identifies the article’s major factual claims, connects them to visible sources and supporting passages, and explains which reporting-evidence signals shaped its score. With Veritas Shield, you can: • Review important claims and the evidence attached to them. • See named sources, quotes, records, and linked references in context. • Understand what strengthened or weakened the reporting-evidence score. • Open Reader for a clear, focused version of the article. • Continue to Evidence Atlas and the complete report on the Veritas Shield website. • Use the same Veritas account and report history across Chrome and the website. When a website’s standard page is incomplete, Deep Scan can read the article already open in Chrome, including an article you signed in to access. Deep Scan runs only when you start it or approve a request from the Veritas Shield Analyzer. The reporting-evidence score describes the evidence visible in an article. It does not decide whether the article is true, rank publishers by reputation, or replace your own judgment.
