A compact share popup appears right below your selection 3. Click a platform icon to share — done QuoteLight automatically pulls article metadata (title, author, publication) so your shares always include proper attribution. On sites without metadata, it gracefully falls back to the page title and URL. WHAT GETS SHARED Your highlighted quote, the article title, the author's name, the publication, and a link to the original article. QuoteLight formats the text for each platform's character limits automatically. PRIVACY QuoteLight has no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, and no external servers. Everything runs locally in your browser. The only data stored is your Mastodon instance URL (if you use Mastodon), saved locally on your machine. PERMISSIONS QuoteLight requests minimal permissions: it reads page content to extract article metadata and detect your text selection. Nothing is sent anywhere — sharing happens through each platform's standard web links.
