Take quick notes and manage todos while browsing Spotnote is a minimalist note-taking/todo list app that lives in your browser, allowing you to take a quick note or create a todo from any tab while retaining the context and URL. Spotnote will not be useful for you unless you're like me. It's not meant to be a replacement for more robust tools like Notion or Evernote. Think of it more like a safety net in your browser for your pop-up thoughts. You might find Spotnote useful if… ➤ You have a short memory span so if you don't write down the note or todo immediately, it's gone. ➤ You need context for your notes or todos (because you tend to forget). ➤ You want to have the direct URL of the email or tab you took the note from for easy access. ➤ You consider yourself organized chaos. ➤ You live on the browser, usually with an ungodly amount of tabs open. ➤ You want a quick way to write down passing thoughts without disturbing your flow. ➤ You work in an environment that requires you to remember to do something by a certain time or follow up with someone (I'm a project manager). ---------------------------------------- Why Spotnote exists: ➤ Most note-taking apps or todo lists require you to open another window which disrupts your flow. ➤ Most todo lists do not retain the context of where the item came about, no browser URL retention. ➤ Other apps are either too complex or too limited (e.g., Notion is too clunky, Apple Notes is too limited). ---------------------------------------- Personal note: I work as a digital project manager and I made this extension so the tiny things don't slip through the cracks. I felt that there is too much unnecessary friction in navigating to another app like Notion, Apple Notes, or a physical todo list. Additionally, these other apps don't save the context or the URLs so I often forget why I took the note. I personally use Spotnote daily at work and I hope you will find it useful too. Best of luck, Zi ---------------------------------------- HOW TO USE ➤ Right-click anywhere in your browser to open SpotNote (Works everywhere except special web apps - just click the scroll bar for those) ➤ Choose "Add Note" or "Add Todo" from the menu ➤ Add tags separated by commas if you'd like to organize your items ➤ The popup closes automatically - keep browsing without interruption ➤ Access all your captures through the Spotnote sidebar ➤ In the sidebar, you can: ➤ Filter notes and todos ➤ Postpone items to a later date ➤ Convert notes to todos (or vice versa) ➤ Delete items as needed ➤ Jump back to any note's original webpage
