Opportuning Companion is a browser extension built specifically for artists, creative professionals, and cultural organizations. It opens a smart sidebar directly on external application websites, helping you understand requirements, draft better answers, and submit with confidence, without ever leaving the page. Why Opportuning Companion? Applying for grants, residencies, open calls, and cultural funding is time-consuming and often unclear. Requirements are buried in PDFs. Forms ask vague questions. Word limits are punishing. And you're doing it alone. Opportuning Companion is the writing and research assistant that sits beside you while you fill out the form, reading the page, understanding what's being asked, and helping you write answers that reflect your real practice. It does not apply for you. It helps you apply better and faster. How it works Find an opportunity on Opportuning (opportuning.art) and click Apply. The Companion sidebar opens automatically on the application website. Use it to understand fields, draft answers, sharpen your writing, or review your full application before submitting. The sidebar stays out of your way: minimize it to a floating button at any time and reopen it when you need it. Key features — Field explanation: Don't know what a field is really asking?
