Detects, captures, and downloads subtitles (.vtt) as Original, SRT, or plain TXT. Subtitle Downloader — save subtitles from any website as SRT, TXT, or the original file Subtitle Downloader finds the subtitles on the pages you visit and lets you save them with one click. No accounts, no settings to configure, and nothing to turn on — just browse like you normally do, and the extension does the rest. What it does Automatically detects subtitles on almost any website while you watch or browse. Saves each subtitle in the format you want: SRT — the standard subtitle file, ready for video players. TXT — clean, plain text with the timestamps removed (great for reading or copying). Original — the exact file as the site delivered it. Download all (TXT) — combines every subtitle on the page into a single text file. Shows a small number on the extension icon so you can see how many subtitles were found on the current tab. How to install Click Add to Chrome at the top of this page. Confirm by clicking Add extension in the pop-up. The Subtitle Downloader icon appears in your toolbar. (Tip: click the puzzle-piece icon and pin it so it's always visible.) That's it — there's nothing else to set up. How to use Open any page that has subtitles (a video, a lesson, a recorded meeting, etc.). Click the Subtitle Downloader icon in your toolbar. You'll see the list of subtitles found on that page. Pick a format — SRT, TXT, or Original — and the file downloads instantly. To grab everything at once, use Download all (TXT). Supported subtitle types WebVTT (.vtt), SubRip (.srt), TTML/DFXP, and online captions — including subtitles that sites load in the background without an obvious file name. Privacy Subtitle Downloader works entirely in your browser. It does not collect, store, or send your personal data anywhere. It only reads the subtitle files on the pages you choose to download from.
