Watch only the Highlights of any YouTube video. AI finds the key moments and plays straight through what matters. Highlightly is a highlight PLAYER, not a summarizer. It doesn't hand you a wall of text to read instead of the video — it plays the video itself, and skips the parts that don't matter. Open any YouTube video, click "Highlights" in the player controls, and Highlightly's AI reads the transcript and picks out the segments that actually carry the content. Your player then seeks between those segments automatically. You watch a continuous stream of the good parts, on the original video, on YouTube. Typically 40-60% less time for the same substance. Built for lectures, conference talks, podcasts, interviews, and tutorials — anything long-form where the signal is real but spread thin. HOW IT WORKS 1. Open a YouTube video. 2. Click the "Highlights" button in the player controls. 3. Highlights start streaming in within seconds — you don't wait for the whole video to finish processing. 4. Markers appear on the progress bar. Playback skips between them automatically. 5. Switch back to the full video at any time, at any point. WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT - You still watch the video. No summary to read, no clips to download. - Plays in place on YouTube, in the normal player. Nothing is re-hosted or re-encoded. - Highlights stream in progressively, so playback starts before analysis finishes. - Seek anywhere yourself and it re-syncs around you instead of fighting you. ADVERTISING Highlightly is not an ad blocker and does not interfere with advertising in any way. While a YouTube ad is playing, the extension suspends its own playback logic entirely and resumes only once the ad has finished. Ads play exactly as they normally would. PRIVACY Highlightly sends the URL of the video you're watching to our own API in order to analyze it. We never download or store the video or its audio, and we don't store full transcripts.
