Write email replies with AI that never remembers your email. On-device by default; optional bring-your-own-key cloud. Draft replies and summarize threads in Gmail and Outlook web — with AI that runs on YOUR device. Most AI email tools send every message you open to their servers. emailito is built the other way around: the model runs locally, the extension has no server, no account, no analytics, and no memory of your email. WHAT IT DOES • Draft a reply for the open email: tell it what to say ("politely decline, propose next Tuesday") and pick a tone — professional, friendly, concise, warm, formal, or direct. • Summarize the whole thread: overview, key points, and action items for long conversations — the private alternative to cloud AI overviews. • Insert the draft straight into the reply box, or copy it. You always review before sending. • Writes in the language of the email — the draft and the summary come back in the thread's language, with nothing to switch on. English is the most reliable, Spanish and French read well; Italian, German and less common languages work but lean harder on the model you pick, and a 7B/8B or Claude clearly beats the 3B default. Worth trying on your own mail first. (emailito's own interface is English for now.) THREE ENGINES — YOU CHOOSE WHERE YOUR EMAIL GOES • Browser (default when your device supports it): a compact model runs inside Chrome on your GPU via WebGPU. Your email never leaves the machine. • Ollama: use the Ollama app on your computer for bigger, better local models. Still fully on-device. • Claude (cloud, opt-in): bring your own Anthropic API key. Only in this mode does email content go to a server — Anthropic's, directly, with your key. There is no emailito server in the path, ever. You get a clear disclosure before the first cloud request. PRIVACY, ENFORCED — NOT JUST PROMISED • No account. No sign-up. No telemetry. No analytics. • Nothing about your email is stored: no history, no per-contact profiles. Drafts exist only in the panel until you insert or discard them. • The extension's own security policy (CSP) allowlists the few hosts it can technically reach — so "your email never leaves this machine" in the on-device modes is enforced by the browser, not just by our code. • No mail-account OAuth scopes, no mail APIs: emailito only reads the email already rendered on your screen. • Open source: github.com/lluisb3/emailito WORKS WITH Gmail (mail.google.com) and Outlook on the web (outlook.office.com, outlook.live.com, outlook.cloud.microsoft). REQUIREMENTS • Browser engine: a WebGPU-capable machine with ~3 GB of free VRAM (first use downloads the model, ~2 GB, cached by the browser). Settings can test whether your GPU can run it, download it up front so no reply waits on it, and remove it again to reclaim the space. Smaller and larger models are selectable there too. • Ollama engine: the free Ollama app running locally, launched so it will accept the extension (one environment variable — emailito's settings page has the exact command, and a Test connection button that tells you if it is wrong). • Claude engine: your own Anthropic API key with API credit (console.anthropic.com — separate from a Claude.ai subscription). Your email is yours. emailito keeps it that way.
