Sleep idle tabs, protect important pages and view sampled JS heap estimates. One-click Simple mode, Advanced rules. Local-only data. TabBreath sleeps idle pages while keeping their tabs. Revisit a sleeping tab to reload it. Use Simple mode for adaptive recommendations or Advanced mode to tune the rules yourself. Simple gives you one action and an automatic-sleep switch. Advanced has tab lists and custom rules. Advanced rules: JS heap threshold, minimum idle time, check interval, tabs per pass, sorting and multi-selection. Closing tabs requires confirmation and is available only in Advanced mode. Active tabs in every window, locked tabs, protected sites and Chrome-protected tabs are skipped. In Simple mode, pinned and audio-playing tabs are also protected. Every minute, up to 12 loaded pages are sampled in rotation. The icon sums fresh page JS heap readings: 850M or 1.2G (1024-based units), at most 4 characters. No fresh samples: —. Turn off and save to remove the number, detailed tooltip and monitoring timer. Estimate sums sampled page JS heaps. Shared heaps may be counted more than once; unsampled pages, images, GPU and browser processes are excluded. This is not Chrome total RAM. The interface supports English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, German and Spanish, with automatic browser-language matching or a manual language choice. Sleep only pages that meet both heap and idle thresholds. Tabs remain in the tab strip. Automatic sleep starts off. Sleeping unloads pages. Lock unsaved work first; revisiting reloads the page. All processing stays on this device. No accounts, analytics, remote code, or data uploads. Tab titles, URLs and heap samples are used only for tab management. Memory readings use the deprecated Chromium performance.memory API. They are approximate JavaScript heaps, can overlap between pages, and exclude substantial non-JS memory. They are not total tab RAM or Chrome total RAM; no CPU measurement is provided.
