Learn English grammar and spelling as you write: hints instead of fixes, so you stop repeating mistakes. Hintless is a grammar coach for English learners that helps you stop needing it. It underlines common mistakes as you write, in text boxes, editors and Google Docs. But instead of fixing them for you, it gives you a hint first: • Click an underline to see what's wrong, with an example that isn't your sentence. • Try to fix it yourself. The answer stays hidden until you ask for it. • Hintless notices how you fixed each mistake: from the underline alone, with the hint, or after showing the answer. Progress you can see Mistakes are grouped into about ten ideas, such as articles, verb agreement, questions and confused words. The toolbar popup shows, for each one, how often you make it per 1,000 words compared with the weeks before, and how well you remember it. Ideas move from New to Learning to Strong, and show as Fading when you haven't practised them for a while. As you learn an idea, the help fades too: strong ideas keep their explanation behind a "Show hint" button. Works in Google Docs Hintless checks your documents too. Docs has its own suggestions that show the answers right away, so turn them off (Tools → Spelling and grammar) to get hints instead. The card reminds you the first time. Built for learners Hintless focuses on the mistakes English learners make, like "I playing", "a advice", "Do she like it?" and "more taller". It catches common mistakes, not every mistake, and it's tuned to avoid flagging correct English, so an underline is worth a look. Private by design Everything runs on your device. Your text is never sent anywhere, there are no accounts, ads or analytics. The only things saved are your progress and settings, in your browser.
