Tells Murmela on your Mac who is speaking in Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Zoom, so your call transcripts show the right names. Murmela speaker names puts real names into the call transcripts that Murmela makes on your Mac. Murmela (murmela.com) records calls and meetings and transcribes them entirely on your Mac. It already knows which words are yours and which come from the call. This helper adds who on the call said them: while Murmela records, it tells the app who Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or Zoom shows as speaking in your browser, so your transcript says "Ada Lovelace" instead of "Speaker 2". HOW IT WORKS • Google Meet: reads the speaking indicator and the speaker of each live caption. • Microsoft Teams: reads the speaker of each live caption. Turn on live captions in the call. • Zoom (web client): reads the active speaker's tile. • The toolbar icon shows REC while names are going to Murmela. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • Sends only participant names and when they speak, and only to Murmela on this computer (127.0.0.1). Murmela listens only while it records a call. • Caption text never leaves the page. • No account, no analytics, no other servers, nothing stored. REQUIREMENTS • Murmela for Mac, free to download from murmela.com • Chrome, Edge, Brave or Arc • Recording a call's sound needs macOS 14.4 or later Murmela records the call's sound itself, so recordings work without this helper; the helper adds the names. With Murmela Pro, several people on the other side of a call are told apart and named. Meet, Teams and Zoom change their pages from time to time. If names stop arriving, Murmela's Meetings screen shows that the helper isn't connected, and the recording itself is unaffected. Turning on the call's live captions gives the most dependable names.
